I was driving near the Boise Air Terminal early yesterday afternoon (January 4, 2006). It had been raining in Boise for the past 4 days and yesterday the clouds began to thin. I caught sight of something strange coming over the horizon from the West and pulled over to watch it. As it drifted closer, I saw that it was shaped something like a snake slithering through the sky. I snapped a photo of it with my Nikon Coolpix 7000 digital camera.
Then, I turned around and saw another anomaly in the sky toward the East. I changed locations so that I could get a better picture of it. It looked like the underside of a horseshoe crab. I have no explanation for either of these phenomena.

We also heard from another Boise resident, who writes:
I was walking from my office to a nearby restaurant for lunch and looked up and saw this ?hole? in the clouds (below). The only camera I had was my cell phone which is a Verizon Pocket PC. This occurred January 4, 2006, at approximately 12:15 pm.
